LISA KUDROWS EASY VOLUMINOUS BLOW DRY

By Zuzana Ritchie, Beauty Writer and Make-Up Artist

Voluminous and bouncy blow-dried hair is always a hair classic and it’s easier than you think! We show you how with our fool-proof guide:

Prep’s The Word

Prepping the hair with the right products and tools ensures the desired result.

1. Opt for a shampoo and conditioner recommended for your hair type. We would advise on a vitamin and protein enriched shampoo for extra shine.

2. Wrap your wet hair in a towel afterwards and leave for 10 minutes, pressing it on your hair to remove excess moisture.

3. Run a wide-toothed comb through your hair and towel-dry further excess moisture at the ends.

Lift And Smoothen

Your hair type also dictates what heat-protecting product works best for your hair. Apply them close to your roots.

1. Dry and coarse hair benefit from using a blow-drying lotion or cream.

2. Fine or oily hair works best with a root-lifting mousse or gel.

3. Normal hair can be sprayed with a volumizing spray.

Get Down To Business

The holy trinity of a perfect blow dry – hair dryer, large round bristle brush and hair clips – will lead you to a victorious result.

1. Section your hair according to its thickness, pin the top parts and start blow-drying the bottom sections of your hair by pulling and lifting each section of hair with the round brush.

2. When blow-drying the sides of your hair, hold the brush vertically and twist each hair section around the brush and towards your face, whilst pointing the nozzle of a hairdryer close to the hair.

3. Hold the brush horizontally and twist away from the face, when blow-drying the top part of your hair.

4. Finish with a cool air blast from your hairdryer to seal the cuticles and prevent the shiny finish.

Top tip: If you have extra time, grab a few large Velcro rollers and wrap a few top sections of hair around them, whilst the hair is still hot. Let it cool down and take them out afterwards.
