Jonathan Saunders' collection inspired by Tate Modern

Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders revealed that the simple architecture of London's Tate Modern was an inspiration for his spring/summer 2013 collection, perfect for parading down the makeshift Turbine Hall runway.

Jonathan said: "A lot of it came from things that I love. I've always wanted to show here at the Tate Modern. There was an amazing Michael Clark performance here which is something I've always loved and been inspired by.

"I think there's a simplicity, cleanness and graphicness, that's relevant for me to work on right now. Because of the added element of toughness and sexy, I think that's important. There were so many different textile designs in that collection... It was actually more print than I've ever done."

Critics were impressed by Jonathan's signature striking geometric patterns, neon pencil skirts and shimmering metallics shown in their full potential in a winding, mirrored corridor.

Jonathan picked up the BFC/Designer Vogue Fashion Fund earlier this year.
