Naomi Campbell launches charity bag
Supermodel Naomi Campbell, who is the president of Fashion For Relief, has announced the launch of a specially-designed bag to help raise money for charity, Udayan Care, which helps women and children in India.
The initiative is lead by Lord Waheed Alli, who is taking his success with ASOS to India with online fashion retailer Koovs.
The reusable bag will have a selling value of 350.00 INR but will be given away free with each order of the new KOOVS private label product.
Lord Alli said of the project: "I'm thrilled to be part of such an exciting venture. I have long admired Naomi's ability to use her position and fashion to help those in need. Giving back the way Naomi continues to do is always to be admired and I want to personally thank Naomi for her generous support and contribution in India. The bag itself is very stylish, and the fact that it is raising money for such a good cause is wonderful. It's always great to bring a quality new product to the market, but in this instance it is doubly satisfying."
Naomi added: "It's wonderful that Waheed and I are collaborating. His expertise and guidance on the marketing and retail level will be invaluable and I'm very grateful. Meantime, I'd only like to echo his comments about how good the bag looks and how thrilled I am that we are able to make such a positive difference to people's lives in this way."
Koovs will donate 10 per cent of the sales margin from each garment sold from the new Koovs private label collection to Udayan Care.
