Jennifer Lawrence loves Brigitte Bardot inspired make-up

The Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence's make-up artist Kay Motano says the actress loves a smoky eye inspired by the French actress Brigitte Bardot's iconic look that Jennifer rocked at the Cannes Film Festival.

Jennifer set off her tousled locks with a simple, elegant black and white Christian Dior gown and Kay believes the dress helped the star experiment more and ditch her signature nude lips for something more daring.

Speaking about the run-up to the event, Kay revealed to Yahoo! Lifestyle UK: "[I did need to convince her to wear lipstick] a little bit. She doesn't need that much persuasion, she's open. She knows that she's wearing Dior and she's playing a part.

"Jennifer really loves having Bardot eyes. She prefers eyes and no lips but I just said, 'Shall we try a lip this time, it'll be more fun', because I did her earlier in the day and this was the final look. Dark eyes and pale lips are more her, it's her thing. She's a Bardot."

The beauty whiz also believes the splash of pink made Jennifer's look more fun and reflected her youth.

She added: "Because she was wearing that black and white dress, it just needed that pop of colour otherwise it looks too grown up."
