Hedi Slimane to dress Rolling Stones for their gigs
Hedi Slimane is said to be dressing The Rolling Stones for their forthcoming 50th anniversary gigs in London and New Jersey. The YSL’s creative director has photographed the band for his book in 2003.
Representatives for the fashion house and the band failed to confirm or deny the speculation.
The news comes just weeks after Hedi - who previously headed up Dior Homme - made his YSL debut with a 70s-inspired show at Paris Fashion Week.
Models were sent down the runway in wide-brimmed hats, shades of nude and grey and pussybow blouses. Tuxedo jackets were also popular, as were maxi-dresses, although the image was more rock than 70s hippie.
Speaking recently, Hedi said he was prioritising the ready-to-wear collection over everything else.
He said: "Haute couture is a legitimate subject for Yves Saint Laurent and could resume one day. The priority today is to revamp and redeploy the luxury ready-to-wear."
