Dying to try out a fringe haircut but worried to commit to such a huge step? Put your fear aside and let the celebrities do the talking with their well-chosen bangs.

Tie your hair back in front of a mirror and trace the outline of your face onto the mirror with a lipstick, then draw the outline of your head and neck and voila, your face shape is revealed.

Cameron Diaz – Round Face

Choose the right cut as the wrong fringe can make your face look much fuller. Side fringe adds length and definition. Go for longer or shorter and keep it slightly textured or ruffled.

Best Fringe: Side-swept.

Could Work: Below-the-brows, soft fringe. (Emma Stone)

Worst Fringe: Blunt cut.

Florence Welch – Square Face

Flirty, textured and long-cut fringe is the key. If it feathers slightly in a centre, it softens your features. Get it cut just below the brows and add few layers on the top to lengthen your square features.

Full and bouncy fringe, tapering diagonally on the sides, finishing at the top of your cheekbones balances out the forehead and the gradual angle on the sides widens the face.

Best Fringe: Thick, bouncy, longer on the sides.
