Dolce & Gabbana reveals glam and colourful collection at MFW
Dolce & Gabbana fashion brand unveiled its spring/summer 2013 colourful collection called "Sea, Sun and Love" on the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week.
The Italian fashion design power-duo - Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce - showcased a number of garments containing sun-lounger stripey designs complemented with strong accessories such as chandelier earrings and wooden wedges with flowers on the heel. The collection also featured basket-shaped skirts and corsets with a similar style as well as a range of swimwear inspired by summertime in Sicily.
Domenico said: “The collection is all about the idea of glamorous holidays in Sicily.”
And Stefano hinted that it could be time for the glam fashion house to take on a more demure approach.
He explained: "Maybe it's our age, but we don't want to promote a woman who looks predatory."
Fashion brand Fendi also took to the runway to reveal its latest summer/spring 2013 collection which featured a "big bang explosion" of furs and leathers inset over one another to make up a 3D effect.
Donatella Versace also unveiled its latest spring/summer 2013 range consisting of feminine and delicate offerings in an array of colours such as organs, greens and pale blues at Milan Fashion Week.
