Colin Firth wears eco-friendly clothes

The Oscar-winning British actor, Colin Firth wears environmentally friendly clothes on the red carpet after encouragement from his wife, Livia.

 

Livia, has her own ethical fashion collection, ‘Livia Firth Design’ and he is taking inspiration from his spouse by wearing recycled outfits.

 

Designer Livia also says she hopes her collection has inspired other designers to be more ethical with their designs as it's so important.

 

She told Britain's Hello! magazine: "Fast fashion is a problem, but we have to try and make companies responsible to make things better. What is the solution? I don't know. Hopefully it will work. Some are starting to take steps and that is admirable. We buy too much as consumers so perhaps we should also take care with buying things that we don't really need."

 

In 2009, Livia launched the Green Carpet Challenge, in which she pledged to wear only eco-friendly, responsibly sourced or recycled clothes to every red carpet event she attends.

 

The challenge inspired the launch of ‘Livia Firth Design’ which attracts some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
